What is the pre-participation physical evaluation (PPE)?
The overarching goal in performing a pre-participation physical evaluation (PPE) is to promote the health and safety of the athlete in training and competition. The PPE provides the medical background on which physical activity decisions will be made by the individual athlete’s physician or the team physician and associated medical staff.
OhioHealth Sports Medicine offers free sports pre-participation physical examinations annually in the spring, during the months of May and June. Information will be sent out to athletes and available on Worthington School websites. The sports physical is not meant to replace regular or as needed visits to your primary care physician. We encourage you to schedule those appointments with your family doctor.
