School Bullying

  • Worthington City Schools is committed to providing the highest academic standards to every child in a safe school environment.  Therefore, harassment, intimidation, and/or discrimination of any student, staff member, or other individuals by any person or group will be prohibited on school property or at any school-sponsored activity.

    The prohibition against hazing, dating violence, harassment, intimidation or bullying is publicized in student handbooks, and in the publications that set the standard of conduct for schools and student in the District. In addition, information regarding the policy is incorporated into employee professional development and training materials.

    The Ohio Department of Education defines bullying and/or harassment as: “Any intentional written, verbal, graphic or physical act that a student or group of students exhibited toward another particular student more than once and the behavior both: causes mental or physical harm to the other student; and is sufficiently severe, persistent or pervasive that it creates an intimidating, threatening or abusive educational environment for the other student.”

    You can submit an online report with this form. All reports will be promptly forwarded to a district administrator for review and action. As required by Ohio revised law, school districts must report bullying incidents that occur at all of its schools. Ohio school districts are required to report verified bullying incidents twice a year.
