FAQs For Home Education

  • Can my student(s) participate in extracurricular activities?
Resident students receiving home education in accordance with State law shall be offered the same opportunities to participate in District extracurricular activities at the school to which the students would be assigned. Students must be of the appropriate age and grade level as determined by the Superintendent and must fulfill the same academic, non-academic and financial requirements as any other participant.

Can my student(s) be enrolled in specific courses?
Parents who are home educating their children may select to enroll their children on a part-time basis for specific areas of study or courses.

What if I choose to re-enroll my student(s) to Worthington Schools?
Re-enrollment is addressed under section D as part of Ohio Revised Code 3321.042.  Our District will work with you to navigate the enrollment process.  Begin your re-enrollment by going to the Welcome Center section of our website.

How will high school credits be awarded upon re-enrollment?
High school transcripts will specify credits earned through home education.  All home education courses for which credits are awarded will be given a grade of P/F (Pass/Fail).
