Gifted Referral Forms & Deadlines

The Gifted Services Department will accept referral forms and conduct assessments throughout the 2023-2024 school year. However, if the placement deadlines listed below are missed for the current school year, all student placements into the gifted programs will be made the next school year.
Elementary Referrals (Grades 3-5)

The deadline for placement for the 2023 - 2024 school year is November 15, 2023. (Testing window: September 6 – December 16) Students will not be placed into the gifted math programs after January 5, 2024.
The deadline for placement for the beginning of the 2024 - 2025 school year will be April 1, 2024. (Testing window: January 9 – April 26) Referrals received after April 1, 2024 will begin testing in August 2024.
Middle School Referrals (Grades 6-8)

The deadline for placement for the 2023 -2024 school year is November 15, 2023. (Testing window: September 6 – December 16). Students will not be placed into the gifted Math/English program after January 5, 2024.
The deadline for placement for the beginning of the 2024 - 2025 school year will be March 15, 2024. (Testing window: January 9 – April 26). Referrals received after March 15, 2024 will begin testing in August 2024.
Single Subject and Whole Grade Acceleration

Acceleration is a general education accommodation and a student does not have to be identified as gifted to receive an accelerated placement. Referral forms are due at least 60 days prior to the start of the semester that acceleration is to be considered.

Early Entrance to Kindergarten Acceleration Referrals and Placements

Early Entrance to Kindergarten referral forms for testing are encouraged to be returned to Gifted Services by March 15, 2024 so testing can be completed by May 1, 2024. This will allow principals to know their kindergarten enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year.
PLEASE NOTE: Should a student qualify for Early Kindergarten and parent would like to be entered into the ALL Day Kindergarten Lottery, applications must be received by JANUARY 31.
We can accept early entrance applications up to 60 DAYS prior to the start of the semester.
